Gun Control Guns are a part of America’s way of life. Today many citizens are under the impression that firearms are the root of all that is evil. Who would be the person that would save a lady that was being raped? Probably someone who owns a firearm and its use is not intended for evil. The gun control debate needs to disappear. The right to bare firearms, that’s the second amendment of the U. S constitution. Some believe that the banning of guns would only make things worse.
One example hat comes to mind is the Prohibition Act of 1920, see how well that worked, and it most certainly did not stop people from drinking (gun debate peg, Para. 5). It only made some that would sell it illegally richer. Banning guns would only take them out of the hands of honest citizens that own guns and give criminals more of an advantage over unarmed citizens. Banning guns would do no good because criminals do not care if they break the law, or they would not be considered criminals in the first place. That is the reason why the gun control law should be dropped.
There will still be underground gun makers and dealers distributing guns to the public Just like with the illegal drugs of today. Today many hear more about kids and teenagers killing one another accidentally or for murder with a gun, but this is not because people don’t have enough laws on guns (gun debate peg. L, Para. 3). Teenagers can get their hands on tobacco, and alcohol or other drugs that there are laws against. It has nothing to do with the laws but It does have to do with the citizens not caring about the laws.
Every gun In the country cannot be tracked down, the amount of money It will take to go door to door collecting guns could be used to help lower other crimes In the U. S. A gun Is a tool and Like any other It can benefit an owner. There are many who enjoy using guns for hunting or even a hobby. The banning of guns would not only bring a halt on many things that citizens enjoy but would also give law babbling citizens a disadvantage when defending there selves.
